SYDNEY FOOTBALL STADIUM REDEVELOPMENT
SYDNEY FOOTBALL STADIUM REDEVELOPMENT

We worked closely with the architectural lead and consultant team, along with the SCG Trust as the end client, to ensure the design mitigates vulnerabilities for the site and wider precinct (including the SCG). We developed the security requirements for the project brief including key considerations relating to vehicle access and hostile vehicle mitigation, perimeter security, zoning, and building in flexibility for varying event modes and escalation requirements.
In 2019 we completed the security component of the formal State Significant Development (SSD) planning application to show how the design would address the project brief and environmental considerations. We also drafted a detailed CPTED review specifying the design’s conformance with best practice standards.
Infrastructure NSW subsequently gave approval for IR to be engaged directly by John Holland Group (JHG) to deliver the security elements of the Stadium detailed design and construction phases: including the Security Risk Assessment (SRA); related engagements with the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust, police and emergency responders; and preparation of security control specifications and related briefs.
After the decision was taken to incorporate the Stadium Fitness Facilities into the Redevelopment, IR was instructed by JHG to update and expand the SRA to encompass those additional offices and sports facilities.
