SECURITY RISK ADVISERS
FOR THE GAMING AND E-SPORTS
PRECINCT, QIDDIYA CITY,
SAUDI ARABIA

Intelligent Risks (IR) is delighted to be part of the COX Architecture team designing the unique new gaming and e-sports precinct in Qiddiya City, a giga-project that aims to establish the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the global epicentre of the rapidly growing international e-gaming industry. IR has also contributed to Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) security master planning for the up-town central business district (CBD).

The Qiddiya City Gaming and Esports Precinct is an excellent opportunity to apply open but robust security and accessibility standards, and to embody the principles of Universal Design. Applying sound and proportionate security and accessibility principles ensures the built environment caters to people with diverse needs. Our approach showcases Saudi Arabia’s commitment to creating a world-class, seamless environment where all can visit, experience, enjoy, work, and compete.

IR prepared the Precinct Security Risk Assessment (SRA) and has worked closely with COX developing a Security Strategy, CPTED Guidance and related security advice for 100% Concept Design for the project. The precinct comprises 3D e-sports arenas, hotels, residential and commercial buildings, and an extensive public realm featuring immersive gaming themed zones and numerous shopping, dining, and relaxation venues. The district is expected to be home to several esports teams, and more than 30 leading video game companies.
