SECURITY ASSURANCE FOR STATE SPORT CENTRES (VICTORIA)

SECURITY & EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ASSURANCE REVIEW FOR MELBOURNE SPORT CENTRES

IR recently completed a security assurance review for State Sport Centres (SSC). The wide-ranging security review of SSC operations and assets will ensure the organisation has best practice security and emergency management arrangements across its complex portfolio of responsibilities.

The SSC manages four of Victoria’s world-class sporting facilities: the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre (MSAC) and Lakeside Stadium, at Albert Park; the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Parkville; and the Knox Regional Sports Park, which includes the State Basketball Centre.

This SSC project builds on several other recent IR projects. In particular, the work done for Place Management NSW – for whom IR developed a Major Event Security Risk Management Framework (MESRMF) and a Major Event Counter-Terrorism Plan (MECTP) for several pre-eminent public precincts in Sydney. And, also, our recent project reviewing security and emergency management arrangements for the annual Vivid Sydney festival.
