COMMONWEALTH GAMES AUSTRALIA: BIRMINGHAM COMMONWEALTH GAMES 2022

I am very pleased to provide this letter of support to Intelligent Risks (IR) for the invaluable advisory role it provided on behalf of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee.

Given the additional stresses and challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the IR team was required to deliver an extraordinary amount of assistance to the Organising Committee, police and security agencies – enabling them to prepare and deliver a very successful safety, security, and safeguarding operation at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. IR made a very significant contribution to the successful outcomes.

Based on the IR team’s unparallelled experience derived from 11 Olympic Games, several previous Commonwealth Games and numerous other multi-sport events, IR provided timely, efficient, effective, and innovative advice to ensure athletes, officials and spectators were appropriately protected across the diverse footprint of a complex event that stretched from East London to Warwickshire and Coventry, and Birmingham and the West Midlands. Incidentally, IR is continuing to provide valuable advice, on behalf of the CGF, to the Organising Committee responsible for planning the complex delivery of security for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Overseas Security Advisory Council, U.S. Diplomatic Security: Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Phil Walker. (Formerly) I was deployed to the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games in my then capacity as Major Events Lead for the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), within U.S. Diplomatic Security.

Nine Network and Ese The Agency Paris 2024 Olympic Games

As Managing Director of ESE The Agency, I was involved, along with the Nine Network, in selecting Intelligent Risks (IR) for this complex security and safety support role. We were aware IR has been involved in planning and delivery for 11 Olympics, including doing the security planning for the Paris 2024 bid for the French Government. Additional to that, ESE The Agency has worked with IR on other international major events including the London 2012 Olympics.
