CASE STUDY

CENTRAL PLACE SYDNEY

Central Place Sydney

The Central Place Sydney project is the most significant development in Sydney’s central business district in more than a decade. This $2.5 billion Frasers Property-Dexus development will transform the western edge of Central Station with new commercial buildings and public realm improvements. This reconnected precinct will enable the City of Sydney to create a third new major civic square in Sydney.

Central Place Sydney will feature two commercial towers, respectively with 37 and 39 stories. Between the towers, a low-rise sculptural building will anchor the project and enliven the precinct at civic square and street level.

In October 2020 Frasers Property and Dexus engaged Intelligent Risks (IR) to provide specialist security support for the Concept Design, Development Application and Post-DA (Tender Design) phases of the project. Deliverables, to date, include Central Place Security Risk Assessment (and Risk Register); Central Place Security Strategy. We have also developed the security requirements for Integrated Distribution Facility – a unique loading dock and waste management facility intended to support the neighbouring Atlassian development and the future Central Station Over Station Development.

Future deliverables – prior to project completion circa 2026 – are likely to include a Central Place CPTED Report; Security Performance Brief for tender issue; the precinct-wide Integrated Distribution Facility (IDF) Security Operations Plan; the Critical Incident Management Plan; the Central Place Security Standard Operating Procedure’s (SOP’s) Framework; and the Central Place Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) Strategy.
