Manager New South Wales (Sydney)

Ben is a highly skilled security professional with extensive experience in security risk analyses, physical security design, and open-source intelligence. Prior to joining IR, Ben held a range of professional security, risk and crisis management roles including in Italy, Belgium and Germany. Following his undergraduate studies, he assisted in the organisation of the 53rd Munich Security Conference and joined the mobility risk company EXOP Group before commencing his master’s degree in 2018. In 2020, Ben completed internships at the NATO Defense College in Rome and at Horizon Intelligence in Brussels focusing on APAC intelligence analysis.

After joining IR in 2021, Ben provided support across a wide range of security design projects including the Birmingham 2022 Venues Security Risk Assessment program, Edith Cowan University City Campus in Perth; Northern Beaches Mental Health Hub in Sydney; Central Precinct Sydney Safety & Security Strategy; Sydney Football Stadium Security Risk Assessment; and the Major Venues Infrastructure Program for Development Victoria and Populous.

Ben has also been an integral member of IRs Afghan humanitarian team; evacuating Afghanis at clear and present life safety risk to safe countries.

Since being appointed Manager New South Wales in 2022, Ben been our project lead for the Central Place Sydney, TOGA Central, and Metro Martin Place projects. He is also leading the IR team working for Cox Architecture and the Qiddiya Investment Company on a long term project in Saudi Arabia.

Ben holds a Bachelor of International and Global Studies, and a Master of International Security (Country Risk Assessment) from the University of Sydney. He has a Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis and is trained in GIS, mapping and spatial analysis.
