Security & Risk Adviser (Sydney)
Ben is an exemplary security professional with previous experience in crisis response, open-source threat analysis and project management. Prior to joining IR, Ben held a range of professional security, risk and crisis management roles including in Italy, Belgium and Germany. Following his undergraduate studies, he assisted in the organisation of the 53rd Munich Security Conference and joined the mobility risk company EXOP Group before commencing his master’s degree in 2018. In 2020, Ben completed internships at the NATO Defense College in Rome and at Horizon Intelligence in Brussels focusing on APAC threat analysis.
Since joining IR in June 2021, Ben has provided support across a wide range of IR D & C projects including the Birmingham 2022 Venue Security Risk Assessment program, Edith Cowan University City Campus (ECUCC) security design; Northern Beaches Mental Health Hub (NBMHH) CPTED report; Central Precinct Renewal Program (CPRP) Sydney Safety & Security Strategy; and Sydney Football Stadium (SFS) Precinct Village and Carpark Security Risk Assessment; Development Victoria – Populous: Major Venues Infrastructure Program. Ben has also been an integral member of the IR team on IRs Afghan humanitarian project; evacuating Afghanis at serious risk from Kabul to safe countries. He has also managed several IR crisis support cases for Liberty Special Markets (LSM); involving product contamination claims by insured clients.
Ben holds a Bachelor of International and Global Studies, and a Master of International Security (Country Risk Assessment) from the University of Sydney. He has also completed a Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis and a course in GIS, mapping and spatial analysis.
