Aviation Security Capacity Development

In late 2020, IR is delivering a series of aviation security risk management workshops for personnel at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports in Bangkok, commissioned by the Australian Government.
The workshops will include risk context workshops, to enable Airports of Thailand (AOT) participants to review and draft a Security Risk Context Statement, consistent with ICAO guidelines, for each of the airports. They will also include Attack Path Methodology workshops to assist participants to assess vulnerabilities and consider mitigation options at AOT airports. This program follows on from the highly successful risk context and attack path methodology workshops we delivered at Phuket International Airport (HKT) in 2018 and 2019.
IR also delivered a highly successful risk framework workshop in Indonesia in February 2020, which aligned Indonesia’s national risk management framework with the latest ICAO risk management and risk context guidance. This highly collaborative program supported the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) strategy to align Indonesia’s National Aviation Security Risk Management Framework with international standards. The program also visited several Indonesian airports to validate and update the airport risk assessment tools, which IR developed for the DGCA in 2017.
